Small town spirit looms large as Twilight Markets return

The first markets were a success. Yandina at twilight is the perfect setting.

The first markets were a success. Yandina at twilight is the perfect setting.

Following the success of the inaugural event Yandina will host another Twilight Market and Late Night Shopping on Friday February 5.

The artisan market encourages residents, visitors, stallholders and businesses to come together and support the thriving community.

Organiser Ruby Susie of Acacia Collective said the events aimed to celebrate “ourselves, our community and our earth”. “We are striving to support local artisans and hand crafters who create beautiful sustainable products,” she said.

“Let’s bring our awareness to our purchases by supporting local and ethically made products, to work towards closing the loop of waste and create a more thriving future.

“With the current state of affairs in the world, it is so important to bring our focus back to community and create grass roots movements and move towards a more supportive future.”

Yandina small business owner Melissa Richards of The Rustic Flower said the market’s epitomised Yandina’s small-town spirit. “As a small business owner in a small town I’ve come to understand you’re part of a family-like community. Its about bringing community together. We have a beautiful diverse range of shops in Yandina. Come enjoy a night out, grab dinner at one of our local cafes or restaurants, browse the local shops and indulge in some amazing local talent. Pop in and say hello.”

“Ruby from Acacia Collective has done an amazing job bringing local artisans together.”
